Pinder, 96, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Miller Cemetery in Everest. Mrs. Pinder died Friday, Sept. 9, 2005, at Brandon Woods nursing facility in Lawrence. She was born Nov. 1, 1908, in Linn Creek, Mo., the daughter of Joseph Riley and Mary Jane Earp Shivers. Mrs. Pinder worked as a cook for a school district and at Lawrence Memorial Hospital, where she retired from the dietary department. She was a member of the National Cooks Assn. and volunteered at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. She married Raymond Hamilton. He died in 1943. She married Francis Wingate Pinder in 1945. He died March 4, 1984. Survivors include two daughters, Rosemary Hines, Westminster, Colo., and Karen Dirks, Lawrence; a brother, Cliff Shivers, Leawood; a sister, Effie Heusel, Kimberling City, Mo.; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
