Cemetery notes and/or description:
Wellington Cemetery was the name given to the original portion of Memorial Gardens Cemetery. In 1912 during a typhoid epidemic, it was thought that the cemetery was polluting the water supply and the cemetery was closed and the Cemetery Association bought Fairview Cemetery. Later new wells were drilled and the cemetery reopened. Some of the older folks living in the area still refer to Memorial Gardens as Wellington Cemetery, or Old Wellington Cemetery.
