- Comments: Two linked CDVs (cartes de visite) recently listed on eBay reproduce pages from The Times relating to the Nettleship Green family. This was a common way of commemorating significant dates, and they are almost always reproductions of the Births, Marriages & Deaths.
These two pages date respectively from 1st May 1893 and 3rd July 1907.
The first records the wedding on 29th April at St George's Hanover Square, by the Rev. Wm Cooper, M.A., cousin of the bride, of William Nettleship Green of 20 Chapter Road, Willesden Park, to Louisa Maude, only daughter of Henry Cooper Rose, M.D., and of the Middle Temple, Barrister-at-Law, of Rosslyn Hill, Hampstead. It adds that they will be "at home" from 12th to 17th June.
The second records the birth, on 1st July 1907, at 24 University Mansions, Lower Richmond Road, S.W., of a daughter to the wife of W. Nettleship Green. The "lead name" used in the second announcement is Green.
I can send you screen shots of these announcements should you miss seeing them yourself (an earlier message appears not to have gone through).
Yours,
Michael
